Having trouble staying focused while studying for that math test? Hitting a writers block while trying to finish that short story? If you need a mental boost, then you need Focus!

What does it do?

Focus is a productivity tool designed to enhance mental clarity and concentration when engaged in complex mental tasks by using Isochronic tones. These tones are specifically made to put your brain into “study mode”. We have two separate tones to help with both left brain (logical) and right brain (creative) thinking. So if you are having trouble focusing on homework, need a boost studying, or pounding through an essay use the logical tones. If you are brainstorming, working on a creative project, or just need some new ideas, the creative tones can help you find inspiration.

How does it work?

Isochronic tones are on the simplest level, tones that turn on and off at a certain frequency. Your brain works in a similar (but much more complex) way. Your brain is made up of millions of neurons that fire electrical charges to communicate with each other. The combination of the millions of neurons firing in the brain creates what is called a brainwave pattern. These patterns correlate with specific mental functions; studying, watching TV, or playing a sport all induce different brainwave patterns. Isochronic tones “trick” the brain into matching a specific brainwave pattern using the corresponding tone frequency. So, while using this app, your brain will gradually go into “focus mode”. This isn’t just some pseudo-science, isochronic tones have generated enough interest in the scientific community for research to be done.

Warnings

While over twenty one independent peer reviewed studies have pointed towards Isochronic tones as being safe and not having any lasting effect, it is important to practice caution when using the tones. Do not operate heavy machinery while using Isochronic tones, and do not use if you have a history of epilepsy. Stop using if you feel dizzy or light headed.
